Cloud bookkeeping refers to using bookkeeping software accessed via the internet, running on remote web servers rather than a local computer. Instead of downloading copies of software onto your company computers, your team simply logs into the software through their web browser.
Cloud systems are purchased on a subscription basis. There is no need to download any software, worry about doing updates and no forgetting to do your backups.
